A controlled route from lighting brief to handover

Fagerhult structures project support around evidence, named review gates and buildable decisions. The process connects room geometry, visual task, photometric modelling, controls interfaces and commissioning records without treating one document as proof of everything.

Four review gates with explicit outputs

Define

Record the task, target illuminance, room surfaces, mounting constraints, maintenance access, operating hours and applicable jurisdiction. This prevents a catalog match from replacing the project brief.

Model

Select the exact optic and lumen package, then calculate with the matching IES or LDT file. Preserve software settings, reflectance, light-loss factor and calculation grid for reproducibility.

Coordinate

Review drivers, DALI-2 or other interfaces, occupancy sensing, daylight harvesting, emergency behavior and circuit architecture with the electrical and controls teams.

Verify

Check delivered configuration, aiming, scene behavior and representative field measurements. Handover records should state deviations and the maintenance assumptions behind continued performance.

Traceability is the service guarantee

Project outputs are tied to a product configuration and stated assumptions. When geometry, optic, output, driver or controls change, the affected review is reopened instead of silently carrying forward an obsolete result.

The boundary remains explicit: a calculation estimates performance under modelled conditions, while installation quality, furniture, surface finish, aiming and commissioning can alter the observed result. Critical rooms may therefore require a representative mockup or field measurement before the final acceptance decision.
